About Bermuda

Located 650 miles off the east coast of the US, Bermuda stands alone both geographically and as a business leader. While located off the coast of North Carolina, and technically not in the Caribbean, it is less than a two hour flight to New York or Florida. As a leading insurance/reinsurance and financial centre, business people from around the world come to Bermuda. There is easy access to and from major US cities and daily flights to the UK .

However, it is not all high finance in Bermuda. Mixing business with pleasure is the way of life. Long and narrow, measuring 20.7 square miles, Bermuda is made up of a fishhook-shaped chain of 180 islands. Anywhere on the island, including sitting at your desk, you are never more than .5 miles from the ocean. The crystal clear, turquoise waters with pink sandy beaches, offer an abundance of recreational opportunities. Water activities such as swimming, snorkelling, diving, boating, kite sailing, wind surfing and deep-sea fishing are all very popular. But if you prefer to keep your feet on solid ground, golf, football, rugby, tennis and beach volley-ball should keep you occupied.

With a population of 65,000, Bermuda has a reputation of having the friendliest people in the world. This may have a lot to do with the wonderful weather, and having warm people as well. Sunny skies prevail for most of the year, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C in the winter to 30°C in the summer. With a large local population, and new people moving to the island every day, it is easy to build new relationships. The area has an outstanding standard of living and offers high quality resources such as excellent schools and cultural events. Whether your family includes a spouse, children or just yourself, all are certain to make friends and settle in quickly. You won’t have to walk too far before hearing the typical, Bermudian greetings, “good morning” or “good afternoon.”
